The Binh Thanh District Construction Investment Project Management Board oversees the project, which began in late February. With a total investment of over 1,000 billion VND, the project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance the urban landscape.
The 600-meter stretch from Binh Hoa intersection to the Phan Chu Trinh intersection will expand from 5-6 meters to 23 meters, accommodating four lanes, a drainage system, lighting, and landscaping.

Workers level the ground and construct the drainage system on 12/8. Upon completion, the road will experience less flooding, especially in alleyways. The rain on 5/8 caused flooding that submerged motorbikes in several alleyways on Chu Van An road. Photo: Thanh Tung |
The project required the acquisition of over 14,000 square meters of land, impacting 166 households. Eleven households were completely relocated, while 155 others had portions of their property acquired.
Land acquisition accounts for nearly 982 billion VND of the total investment, with construction costing around 49 billion VND. The remaining funds cover the relocation of technical infrastructure (electricity, water, telecommunications) along with consulting and project management expenses.

Chu Van An road, nearly two kilometers long, is a major thoroughfare in Binh Thanh district, connecting to major roads in inner Ho Chi Minh City such as Dinh Bo Linh, Phan Chu Trinh, and Phan Van Tri. The section from Binh Hoa intersection to Phan Chu Trinh intersection has been a bottleneck, causing persistent congestion and impacting travel and businesses. Photo: Thanh Tung |
