Da Nang to host high-altitude fireworks at 6 locations on New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve of Tet Binh Ngo 2026, Da Nang city will organize artistic fireworks displays at 6 locations for residents to celebrate the Lunar New Year.

According to a plan issued by the city's People's Committee on 4/2, the 6 fireworks locations include: the area in front of Hoa Khanh Ward People's Committee in the north; Bach Dang street along the Han river in the city center; the Western Belt resettlement area in Hoa Vang commune; Con Bap tourist area near Hoi An ancient town; 24/3 Square in the former Ban Thach, Tam Ky area; and Nui Thanh Square in the southern part of the city.

All display locations are situated in flat areas, facilitating large gatherings and avoiding mountainous terrain. Notably, Hoi An and Nui Thanh will host high-altitude fireworks for the first time. 24/3 Square is a returning venue, having been chosen for a previous display.

Each display will last 15 minutes, commencing at 0h on the first day of Tet, which is 17/2/2026. The firing system utilizes automatic and semi-automatic equipment, featuring both high-altitude and low-level fireworks produced by Chemical 21 Company Limited, a subsidiary of the General Department of National Defense Industry, Ministry of National Defense.

Following its territorial expansion on 1/7/2025, the city now extends from the central Han riverfront to southern urban areas. The increase in display locations aims to enable residents across various areas to enjoy the fireworks closer to their homes.

In the central area, the display site on Bach Dang street offers convenient viewing for residents of Hai Chau, Hoa Cuong, Thanh Khe, Son Tra, An Hai, and Ngu Hanh Son wards. This street is also a popular pedestrian area, attracting many residents and tourists during holidays.

The City Military Command will lead the organization of the fireworks displays. Police forces will ensure security and order, as well as manage traffic flow. Local authorities are responsible for preparing the sites and coordinating cultural and artistic activities for residents on New Year's Eve.
