Two children returned home, but Hung and Luong stayed behind to continue swimming. By the evening, their families, unable to find the boys, began a search.

Search teams deployed multiple methods to cover the extensive area. These included dragging nets along the shore, sweeping the seabed with lines, and using canoes to expand the search across tens of kilometers of open sea.
