The announcement ceremony for the decision took place on the afternoon of 31/12. On the same day, the Government Party Committee designated Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee, and to serve as permanent deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism for the 2025-2030 term.

Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, 58 years old, hails from Ninh Binh. She holds a Master of Law and a Bachelor of History, and is a member of the Party Central Committee for the 12th and 13th terms.
She developed her career through youth union work, dedicating many years to youth and student movements. During this period, she successively held various positions: Secretary of the Central Youth Union, permanent vice president of the Vietnam National Union of Students, head of the School Youth Committee, president of the Vietnam National Union of Students, and deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Central Youth Union agency.
Transitioning from youth affairs, she moved into propaganda work, serving six years as deputy head of the Central Propaganda Department (now the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department). In December 2017, she was assigned as secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee.
In July 2021, the Politburo assigned Ms. Lam Thi Phuong Thanh to the position of deputy head of the Central Party Office, a role she has held until now.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is a government agency responsible for the state management of various sectors nationwide, including: culture, family, sports, tourism, press, radio, television, news agencies, publishing, printing, distribution, electronic information, grassroots information, and foreign information.
The current Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism is Nguyen Van Hung. The Deputy Ministers include Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Trinh Thi Thuy, Ta Quang Dong, Hoang Dao Cuong, Ho An Phong, and Phan Tam.
