On the afternoon of 31/12, Le Minh Hung, Head of the Central Organizing Commission, presented the Politburo's decision on assignment and appointment to Hoang Trung Dung. Dung assumes his new role after 10 months as editor-in-chief of Communist Review.

Hoang Trung Dung, 54 years old, hails from Ha Tinh province. He holds a doctorate in political science, is a member of the 13th Central Committee, and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
Dung previously held several positions in Ha Tinh province, including: deputy chief of staff and chief of staff of the Provincial Party Committee, secretary of Ha Tinh City Party Committee, head of the Provincial Party Committee's Commission for Propaganda and Education, and standing deputy secretary of the Provincial Party Committee. In 10/2020, Dung became secretary of Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee, and in 2/2025, the Politburo appointed him editor-in-chief of Communist Review.
The Central Organizing Commission serves as an advisory and assisting body to the Central Committee, directly and regularly supporting the Politburo and the Secretariat on party building organization and political system development. It is also a specialized agency for organizational work, personnel, party members, and internal political protection.
The current Head of the Central Organizing Commission is Le Minh Hung. The deputy heads include: Hoang Dang Quang, Nguyen Quang Duong, Nguyen Thanh Tam, Nguyen Thanh Binh, Trinh Manh Linh, Hoang Trung Dung, and Bui Thi Quynh Van. Do Thanh Binh (Minister of Home Affairs) and Nguyen Huu Dong (Chairman of the Committee for Deputy Affairs) serve as ex-officio deputy heads.
