Nguyen The Hong Trung, Director of Dong Thap Province's Department of Construction, said a private enterprise will operate the transportation route, connecting Cao Lanh Bus Station (Cao Lanh ward) with Tien Giang Bus Station (My Tho ward). The 91-km route will operate 62 trips per month.
Buses are scheduled to depart from Cao Lanh at 5:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and from Tien Giang at 11:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. daily. The listed ticket price is 110,000 VND per trip.
The route includes: Cao Lanh Bus Station - National Highway 30 - My Thuan - Trung Luong Expressway - Provincial Road 878 - Dong Tam Intersection - National Highway 1A - National Highway 60 - Ap Bac Road - Tien Giang Bus Station, and vice versa.
Dong Thap province was recently established after merging with Tien Giang province (on 1/7), with the administrative center located in My Tho City. The area covers more than 5,900 km2 and has a population exceeding 4.3 million people across 102 communes and wards.
Around 610 officials and public employees from the former Dong Thap province have been assigned to work in My Tho, mainly heads, deputy heads of departments, and specialists.
Previously, there was no direct bus or coach service from Cao Lanh to My Tho. Residents had to transfer from other routes, incurring additional time and costs.
