Traffic accident victims to receive up to 100 million VND in support

Victims of traffic accidents with an injury rate of 81% or more will receive maximum support of 100 million VND from the Road Traffic Accident Damage Reduction Fund.

The Traffic Police Department (Cuc CSGT), under the Ministry of Public Security, announced that the Road Traffic Accident Damage Reduction Fund will become operational from 1/9.

The Fund aims to assist:

  • Injured victims.
  • Families of deceased individuals facing economic hardship.
  • Organizations and individuals directly involved in rescue and emergency transport of accident victims.
  • Awareness campaigns to reduce traffic accident damage.

Victims with body injuries exceeding 81% will receive up to 100 million VND per instance to support community reintegration and ongoing development. Families of deceased victims facing economic hardship are eligible for up to 20 million VND per incident. Injured victims with body injuries from over 31% to under 81% who face economic hardship can receive up to 10 million VND per person per incident.

Support also extends to those who assist victims and promote safety: Organizations directly helping, rescuing, or transporting victims to emergency care can receive up to 10 million VND per incident, while individuals performing similar actions are eligible for up to 5 million VND per incident. Awareness campaigns not funded by the State may also receive support, with a maximum of 10 million VND for organizations and 5 million VND for individuals per incident. It is important to note that these figures represent maximum amounts; specific disbursements will depend on the actual records, conditions, and legal regulations.

Eligible organizations and individuals can submit applications directly, online, or via postal service. Focal agencies, including units under the Traffic Police Department and Traffic Police Divisions of provincial and city Public Security, will check application validity within two working days. Complete applications will proceed to expenditure request preparation within the stipulated timeframe. Authorities are also tasked with proactively identifying cases eligible for support and initiating the necessary expenditure requests from the Fund.

Beyond its support policies, the Fund also accepts voluntary monetary and in-kind contributions from domestic and international organizations and individuals.
