For every significant moment in Hanoi, from the celebration of Vietnam's National Day on 2/9, National Assembly sessions, and Party Congresses to major festivals, EVNHANOI plays a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and continuous power supply. Behind the bright lights of Ba Dinh or Ho Guom on event nights lies the disciplined, proactive, and highly responsible spirit of the power engineers and workers.

To maintain a stable power supply for national-level events, EVNHANOI typically plans weeks, even months, in advance. The unit conducts comprehensive grid reviews, reinforces infrastructure, and ensures close coordination among departments and operational teams. Regular simulated scenarios are organized to guarantee immediate responses to any potential incident.
Ong Ngoc Long, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Power System Dispatch Center, stated that to ensure readiness for all situations, the unit has developed detailed power supply plans for each event. Critical locations, including sites for important activities and entertainment areas, receive power from two independent medium-voltage sources and two 110kV substations. At these points, EVNHANOI has fully prepared power transfer plans to ensure continuous supply and facilitate prompt resolution in the event of a grid incident.
"The highest goal is to ensure a safe, stable, continuous, and high-quality power supply for all events", he emphasized.

Among the capital's prominent events, National Day on 2/9 is when EVNHANOI mobilizes its largest force. Technical teams are reinforced in Ba Dinh, Trang Tien, and Ho Guom to ensure power for ceremonies, parades, and live television broadcasts. Mobile substations and generators are strategically positioned, and operational control systems function under special monitoring.

For Party Congresses and National Assembly sessions, EVNHANOI establishes control procedures for each venue, such as the Convention Center or the City Party Committee headquarters. Dual-layer backup systems are installed, and power lines are inspected 24/7 to prevent any interruptions throughout these important sessions.

At large-scale cultural and entertainment events, such as Flower Festivals or the Ho Guom countdown, peak load surges, particularly around the lake and pedestrian streets. The unit implements load balancing, rerouting, and operational adjustments to ensure lighting and sound for the central stage.

Technical teams are reinforced throughout events, ready to handle any issues. "We deploy many additional standby personnel and regularly review equipment operational status according to our plans, determined to maintain continuous, stable, and high-quality power flow", shared Tran Anh Tuan, Deputy Head of the Hoan Kiem Power Management Team.

Beyond festivals and national holidays, EVNHANOI also plays a vital role in ensuring energy safety for numerous international conferences held in Hanoi, such as ASEAN events or high-level summits. Here, equipment inspection, operational monitoring, and incident handling procedures are executed with maximum safety and according to international standards.

Behind the city's lights are overnight shifts during event seasons, late-night pole climbs to check conductors, early morning checks in the fog, and the pressure of zero error tolerance. "Even a small anomaly can affect the program, so we always maintain intense focus, unable to be negligent whether it's early morning or late at night", said Nguyen Thanh Ha, a worker in the Operations Dispatch Department at Ba Dinh Power Company.

An EVNHANOI representative stated that a robust digital transformation strategy in recent years has significantly enhanced readiness, as many monitoring systems are now connected in real-time. From the control center, engineers can continuously monitor equipment status, receive early warnings of risks, and quickly coordinate forces, thereby reducing recovery time and increasing supply reliability.
