The first leg of the ASEAN Cup final against Thailand took place in Bangkok on 22/8, with the return leg scheduled for My Dinh on 26/8. This marks the third consecutive time Vietnam and Thailand have met in the final, with each team having won one championship in the previous two encounters.
In the 2022 ASEAN Cup, under coach Park Hang-seo, Vietnam drew 2-2 with Thailand in the first leg at My Dinh before losing 0-1 in Bangkok. Two years later, with coach Kim Sang-sik at the helm, Vietnam secured a 2-1 home victory against Thailand, followed by a 3-2 win at Rajamangala.

Since 16/8, five LED screens, 7 m high and 12 m wide, have been installed here to serve residents cheering for the Vietnam national team during the 2026 ASEAN Cup.
