At noon on 29/12, viewed from above, one overpass branch at the An Phu interchange (right corner) has taken shape.
The An Phu interchange project is a three-level structure, featuring two underpasses and several overpasses for vehicles turning in various directions. The ground level includes a central roundabout and an iconic tower. The project, with a total capital exceeding 3,400 ty dong, commenced in 12/2022 and was initially slated for completion in 4/2025, but has experienced delays.
Upon completion, the project will alleviate congestion at the eastern gateway, enhancing connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, including the Long Thanh airport.

The U-shaped overpass branch is approximately 800 m long. It serves as a continuous link between Ba Dat bridge, Giong Ong To bridge (part of the previously completed Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway access road), and Mai Chi Tho boulevard, creating a seamless, modern transport axis.
Currently, construction of this overpass branch has reached over 95% completion. Once finished, it will be the first overpass in Ho Chi Minh City's largest interchange project to open to traffic. This one-way overpass allows oto to travel from the Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, turn right onto Mai Chi Tho street, and proceed towards Vo Nguyen Giap.
The bridge is designed with two lanes, a width of 9 m, and permits vehicles to travel at a speed of 50 km/h.

Adjacent to the overpass, an underpass is being constructed for vehicles turning left from the expressway onto Mai Chi Tho boulevard, heading towards Thu Thiem tunnel. This underpass, approximately 760 m long with four two-way lanes, is also being fast-tracked for opening before 15/1/2026.
Currently, this component has largely completed its main structural work, reaching approximately 75% of its volume.

The An Phu interchange is a key project designed to resolve years of persistent congestion at Ho Chi Minh City's eastern gateway. Upon completion, the project will reduce traffic jams and enhance expressway operational efficiency, particularly with the ongoing construction of Long Thanh airport.
The structure also lays the groundwork for a major transportation hub in the city, connecting several important projects such as Luong Dinh Cua street, the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway, Ring Road 3, and light rail lines.
