Around 8h on 13/4, a 7-seater oto traveling towards TP HCM on the expressway unexpectedly collided with a 5-seater oto ahead in Binh Duc commune. Three other vehicles—a pickup truck, another 7-seater oto, and a truck—subsequently crashed, creating a chain collision. While no injuries were reported, all five oto sustained damage to their front and rear.

The damaged vehicles blocked the inner lane next to the median, causing severe traffic disruption. This led to a multi-kilometer backup and paralyzed traffic in the area for nearly 2 hours. Traffic police quickly arrived to redirect traffic and coordinated with the expressway management to remove the vehicles.
By over 9h, the scene was cleared, and traffic flow was largely restored. Initial investigations attributed the cause to drivers failing to maintain a safe distance between vehicles.
