According to regulations established in 2021, the nation observes an additional National Day holiday, with the government annually designating the day immediately before or after September 2nd. This year, September 1st was selected, granting public employees a 4-day weekend, encompassing the last two days of the previous week and the first two days of the following week.
Agencies are required to maintain on-call staff to address essential tasks and public services. They are also advised to appoint officials to handle any unforeseen matters. Agencies that do not typically observe Saturday and Sunday closures are to arrange their holiday schedules accordingly. Holiday arrangements for private sector workers are determined by their employers, with 30 days' prior notice.
