In addition to closures on National Day, September 2 (A80), which commemorates the August Revolution and National Day, road closures will also be in effect for rehearsals. The first rehearsal will start at 8 PM on 21/8, the second at 8 PM on 24/8, the preliminary review at 8 PM on 27/8, and the general rehearsal at 6:30 AM on 30/8.
The following streets will be completely closed to traffic: Hoang Hoa Tham, Thuy Khue (from Hung Vuong to Van Cao), Mai Xuan Thuong, Quan Thanh, Phan Dinh Phung, Hung Vuong, Thanh Nien, Hoang Van Thu, Doc Lap, Dien Bien Phu, Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Chua Mot Cot, Le Hong Phong, Ong Ich Khiem, Ngoc Ha, Bac Son, Ton That Dam, Nguyen Canh Chan, Hoang Dieu, Nguyen Tri Phuong, Chu Van An, Ton Duc Thang, Cat Linh, Trinh Hoai Duc, Hang Chao, Tran Phu, and Son Tay.
Closures also include: Kim Ma, Lieu Giai, Van Cao, Nghi Tam, Yen Phu, Cua Bac, Doi Can, La-Pho slope, Nguyen Thai Hoc, Le Duan, Tran Nhan Tong (from Le Duan to Quang Trung), Trang Thi, Hang Khay, Trang Tien, Co Tan, Phan Chu Trinh (from Hai Ba Trung to Trang Tien), Le Thanh Tong, Tong Dan (from Ly Dao Thanh to Trang Tien), Tran Quang Khai, Tran Khanh Du, Quang Trung (from Ly Thuong Kiet to Trang Thi), Ly Thai To, Nguyen Huu Huan, Ngo Quyen (from the State Bank square to Trang Tien), Giang Vo, Lang Ha, and Lang (from Lang Ha to Tran Duy Hung).
These closures will be in effect from 5 PM on 21/8 to 3 AM on 22/8, from 5 PM on 24/8 to 3 AM on 25/8, from 5 PM on 27/8 to 3 AM on 28/8, from 6 PM on 29/8 to 3 PM on 30/8, and from 6 PM on 1/9 to 3 PM on 2/9.

During these times, Hanoi police will also temporarily restrict traffic within ring road 1, except for authorized vehicles such as those with security passes, vehicles serving the celebrations, emergency vehicles, buses, garbage trucks, and maintenance vehicles.
Trucks weighing 1.5 tons or more and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more will be temporarily banned from roads between ring road 1 and ring road 2.
Passenger vehicles with fewer than 16 seats, private cars, and motorcycles will face restrictions on some roads between ring road 2 and ring road 3.
Traffic will also be restricted on certain roads from ring road 3 outwards towards the suburbs, including Highway 32, Cau Dien, Ho Tung Mau, Le Duc Tho, Le Quang Dao, Thang Long Boulevard, Lang Van Hoa road, Highway 21A, Ho Chi Minh road, Highway 6, Quang Trung, Tran Phu, Nguyen Trai, provincial road 419, provincial road 429, Vo Nguyen Giap, and Highway 18. Exemptions apply to buses, garbage trucks, maintenance vehicles, vehicles with security passes, and vehicles serving the celebrations.
During the closures and restrictions, Hanoi police will implement detours: Trucks temporarily banned from Highway 5, the Hanoi-Bac Giang expressway, and the Hanoi-Hai Phong expressway heading towards the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway should travel via Thanh Tri bridge - ring road 3 overpass - Do Muoi intersection - Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway.
Vehicles from eastern provinces (Hai Phong, Hung Yen, Bac Ninh, etc.) traveling to northern, western, and northwestern provinces (Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, etc.) should take the following route: Phu Dong bridge - Thanh Tri bridge - ring road 3 overpass - Thang Long bridge - Vo Van Kiet, etc.; or from Highway 5 - Nguyen Duc Thuan - Thanh Tri bridge access road - Phu Dong bridge - Hanoi-Bac Giang expressway - Hanoi-Thai Nguyen expressway to Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang provinces, etc., and vice versa.
Vehicles from northern provinces (Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, Phu Tho, etc.) traveling to southern provinces (Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, etc.) should travel via: Highway 2 - Vo Van Kiet - Thang Long bridge - ring road 3 overpass - Do Muoi intersection - Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway.
Trucks weighing 10 tons or more traveling on the ring road 3 overpass are advised to avoid exiting at intersections on Pham Van Dong, Pham Hung, Khuat Duy Tien, and Nguyen Xien streets and to follow instructions from traffic authorities.
Hanoi police also recommend that people attending the A80 events use public transport or walk in areas like Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Hai Ba Trung, Giang Vo, Ngoc Ha wards, and locations around Ba Dinh square.
On 2/9, Vietnam will hold a celebration and parade at Ba Dinh square in Hanoi to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. The parade will involve nearly 16,000 participants in 43 marching units, 18 stationary units, and 14 units of military and special vehicles, representing various branches of the army and police, including ground, mechanized, air, and naval forces.
