The decision to reroute trains to Gia Lam station, avoiding the city center, is to facilitate the repair and reinforcement of Long Bien Bridge. A representative from Vietnam Railways Corporation confirmed the change, adding that a definite end date for this rerouting has not yet been determined.
Meanwhile, trains on the Hanoi - Lao Cai route will continue to use Hanoi station for passenger pick-up and drop-off. However, these services will now operate via the Hanoi - Van Dien - Ha Dong - Lao Cai route, bypassing Long Bien Bridge, unlike their previous itinerary.
