Hanoi residents use plastic bags to ward off early season chill

On the morning of 19/11, Hanoi experienced a sharp drop in temperature, prompting many to wear raincoats, cover themselves with plastic bags, or light fires to stay warm against the early season cold.

Mr. Long, owner of an iced tea stall on Tam Trinh Street (Linh Nam Ward), said he lights a fire for customers to warm up while drinking when the weather turns cold.

Hanoi's weather this morning saw a significant drop, reaching a low of about 13 degrees Celsius at 3 am. Despite the biting cold, many still maintained their habit of exercising around Hoan Kiem Lake.

All 15 provinces and cities in the northern region recorded temperatures below 15 degrees Celsius, with Mau Son (Lang Son) experiencing just over 3 degrees Celsius.

On Me Tri Road (Tu Liem Ward), many parents used raincoats and plastic bags to shield their children on their way to school. Hanoi this morning was cold with light rain, intensifying the biting chill. *Thanh Hai*

Early morning saw clear skies and no rain, with temperatures slightly increasing but remaining cold. Many wore warm clothes and an additional raincoat to block the wind when going out.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Loan's drink stall, located by the Kim Nguu River, used an umbrella to shield customers from the cold wind.

Many wore jackets and ear-covering hats, staying warm with hot tea on the sidewalk.

Ms. Hoa, a morning sticky rice vendor, noted that customers primarily bought food for takeaway rather than dining in, unlike other days.

Some temporary stalls in the urban area of Ha Dong Ward were enclosed with plastic sheeting around iron frames to block the wind, keeping customers inside warm. *Thanh Hai*

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the capital's temperature on 19/11 dropped to 13-17 degrees Celsius, then gradually increased to 15-24 degrees Celsius by the weekend.
