Hanoi to close several routes for three days

Hanoi will restrict vehicles on multiple routes from 11/5 to 13/5 for the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 2026-2031 term.

The Hanoi Police Department announced that vehicle restrictions will be in effect from 12h to 14h and from 16h to 17h30 on 11/5; and from 6h30 to 8h30, from 12h30 to 14h30, and from 16h to 17h30 on 12/5 and 13/5.

During these hours, trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 1,5 tons or more and passenger vehicles with 16 seats or more are prohibited from circulating. Exceptions include: buses, garbage collection vehicles, emergency response vehicles, vehicles with security badges, police and military vehicles, and other priority vehicles as regulated.

The restricted routes include: Kim Ma, Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tran Duy Hung, Pham Hung (the section from Me Tri to Thang Long Boulevard), Do Duc Duc, Mieu Dam, Ring Road 3 elevated (the section from Ho Tung Mau to Thanh Tri bridge and vice versa), and Thang Long Boulevard service road (the section from Pham Hung to Provincial Road 70 overpass).

During the vehicle restriction period, the Hanoi Police Department will organize traffic diversions for affected vehicles.

Vehicles traveling from eastern provinces such as: Hai Phong, Hung Yen, and Bac Ninh to northern and northwestern provinces like: Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, and Tuyen Quang should use the Thanh Tri bridge - Hanoi - Bac Giang expressway - National Route 18 and vice versa.

Vehicles from the east heading to western and northwestern provinces such as: Phu Tho, Son La, and Dien Bien should travel via Thanh Tri bridge - Do Muoi - Ngoc Hoi - Phan Trong Tue - Cau Buou - Phuc La - Van Khe - Le Trong Tan - National Route 6 and vice versa.

Vehicles from Vo Van Kiet and Thang Long bridge heading towards Thang Long Boulevard should follow Pham Van Dong - Ho Tung Mau - Cau Dien - National Route 32 - Provincial Road 70 and vice versa.

The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front will take place from 11/5 to 13/5 in Hanoi, with more than 1.300 delegates attending. Under the theme "Unity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development", the congress will evaluate the results of the previous term and outline the action program for the new term.
