Over the past four days, northern Vietnam has experienced 100-250 mm of rainfall due to the remnants of Typhoon Wipha and the Intertropical Convergence Zone, with Thanh Hoa and Nghe An provinces receiving 200-350 mm.
Some areas experienced even heavier rainfall. From 7 PM on 20/7 to 7 AM on 24/7, Sam Son (Thanh Hoa) recorded 498 mm, Muong Long (Nghe An) 431 mm, Nhu Tan (Ninh Binh) 357 mm, Bach Long Vi (Hai Phong) 324 mm, and Co To (Quang Ninh) 265 mm.
The heavy rain has caused flooding on the Ca River (also known as the Lam River) in Nghe An province. The water level at the Muong Xen station reached 145.8 m at 1 AM on 23/7, exceeding the historical flood level by 0.4 m, and 3.89 m above the level three alarm. At the Thach Giam station, the flood peaked at 76.13 m at 8 AM on 23/7, surpassing the historical flood level by 4.31 m and exceeding the level three alarm by 7.13 m.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting stated that heavy rain will continue in northern Vietnam, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An until the end of 25/7. From 26/7, rainfall will decrease in northern Vietnam, but it will persist in Thanh Hoa and Nghe An until the end of 27/7.
From 28/7, the Intertropical Convergence Zone will weaken, and the western hot low-pressure area will become active again, bringing hot, sunny weather to northern and north-central Vietnam (Thanh Hoa - Hue city).
Accuweather forecasts temperatures in Hanoi over the next three days to range from 25-33°C, after which the highest temperature during the day will rise to 35-36°C. High-altitude areas above 1,500 m like Sa Pa (Lao Cai) will experience temperatures ranging from 18-25°C until the end of the week.
The Central Highlands and southern Vietnam will continue to experience showers and thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening due to the moderate to strong southwest monsoon.
The floods have resulted in three deaths, one missing person, and five injuries. 720 houses have been damaged or had their roofs blown off, mainly in Nghe An and Thanh Hoa. Over 3,800 houses have been flooded, mostly in Nghe An with 3,780 houses affected. Landslides have blocked transportation routes at 63 locations in Thanh Hoa and 196 locations in Nghe An.
