Ho Chi Minh City to ban vehicles on central roads on the evening of 30/4 for fireworks display

Ho Chi Minh City will prohibit vehicles on over 20 central routes from 6 PM to 9:30 PM on 30/4 to facilitate a fireworks display, ensure security, and ease traffic congestion.

Ho Chi Minh City is implementing a comprehensive traffic ban across more than 20 key central routes on the evening of 30/4. This measure, effective from 6 PM to 9:30 PM, aims to ensure public safety, maintain order, and alleviate potential traffic congestion during the artistic fireworks display celebrating the 51st anniversary of national reunification.

The celebratory fireworks program will take place at 4 locations. Two of these sites are within Ho Chi Minh City: one near the Saigon River tunnel (An Khanh ward) and another at the Saigon Marina IFC building (Saigon ward). The remaining 2 locations are Ba Ria Square (Ba Ria city) and Binh Duong New City Center.

To manage the large crowds expected to gather in the city center, Ho Chi Minh City will ban all vehicles from several major roads. These include Le Loi (from Pasteur to Dong Khoi), Nguyen Hue (from Le Thanh Ton to Ton Duc Thang), Dong Khoi (from Mac Thi Buoi to Ton Duc Thang), and Ton Duc Thang (from Le Duan to Khanh Hoi Bridge).

Additional restricted routes encompass Ham Nghi, Hai Trieu, Nguyen Thiep, Mac Thi Buoi, Huynh Thuc Khang, Ton That Thiep, Nguyen Cong Tru, Hai Ba Trung, Ho Tung Mau, and Ton That Dam. Nearby arteries such as Nguyen Huu Canh, Vo Van Kiet, Nguyen Tat Thanh, Ba Son Bridge, and Khanh Hoi Bridge will also experience restrictions.

For commuters traveling from Thanh My Tay ward (Binh Thanh district) towards Xom Chieu ward (former District 4), the recommended alternative route is: Nguyen Huu Canh - Thu Thiem Bridge - Saigon River Tunnel - Ky Con - Tran Hung Dao - Nguyen Thai Hoc - Ong Lanh Bridge - Hoang Dieu.

Conversely, for those heading in the opposite direction, the suggested path is: Nguyen Tat Thanh - Hoang Dieu - Ong Lanh Bridge - Nguyen Thai Hoc - Nguyen Thi Nghia - Cach Mang Thang Tam - Nguyen Thi Minh Khai - Xo Viet Nghe Tinh. For travel from An Khanh ward to Hoa Hung ward (former District 10), the route is: Vo Nguyen Giap - Saigon Bridge - Dien Bien Phu - Dinh Tien Hoang - Vo Thi Sau - Ba Thang Hai - Le Hong Phong. The reverse route is: Le Hong Phong - Dien Bien Phu - Saigon Bridge - Vo Nguyen Giap.

The Traffic Police Department advises residents navigating areas adjacent to the restricted zones to reduce speed, adhere to instructions from authorities, and follow all road signs to prevent congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow.
