Former Bac Giang Party Secretary Bui Van Hai 'committed very serious violations'

The Central Inspection Committee has proposed that competent authorities discipline Mr. Bui Van Hai, former Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Council, for violations causing very serious consequences.

On the afternoon of 20/5, the Central Inspection Committee issued a communique from its 6th session, announcing that it had reviewed a report proposing disciplinary action against Party members who committed violations within the former Bac Giang provincial Party Committee.

The Central Inspection Committee concluded that Mr. Bui Van Hai, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Provincial Party Secretary, and Chairman of the Bac Giang Provincial People's Council, violated Party regulations and state laws in performing his assigned duties, and in anti-corruption, anti-wastefulness, and anti-negativity efforts. He also violated regulations on what Party members are prohibited from doing and the responsibility to set an example, "causing very serious consequences, negatively impacting the prestige of the Party organization, locality, and the agencies and units where he worked, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken."

Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, former Deputy Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Lai Thanh Son, former Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Trinh Huu Thang, former Director of the Department of Planning and Investment; Mr. Bui The Son, former Director of the Department of Transport; Mr. Pham Giang, former Director of the Department of Construction; Mr. Nguyen Tien Coi, former Director of the Department of Finance; Mr. Nguyen Van Khai, former Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development; and Mr. Nguyen Van Son, former Deputy Director of the Department of Transport, also violated Party regulations and state laws in performing their assigned duties, in anti-corruption, anti-wastefulness, and anti-negativity efforts; and violated regulations on what Party members are prohibited from doing and the responsibility to set an example.

The violations by the individuals mentioned above "caused serious consequences, negatively impacting the prestige of the Party organization, locality, and the agencies and units where they worked, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken."

Therefore, the Central Inspection Committee issued a warning to Mr. Nguyen Van Linh, Mr. Lai Thanh Son, Mr. Trinh Huu Thang, Mr. Bui The Son, Mr. Pham Giang, Mr. Nguyen Tien Coi, Mr. Nguyen Van Khai, and Mr. Nguyen Van Son.

Mr. Bui Van Hai was recommended by the Central Inspection Committee for disciplinary review by competent authorities.

Mr. Bui Van Hai, 66, from Bac Ninh, was a member of the 12th Party Central Committee. He holds a Master's degree in Party Building and a Bachelor's degree in Educational Psychology. He served as the Bac Giang Provincial Party Secretary from 2015 to 2020.
