At noon on 17/11, following a day and night of intense rain, the land supporting the foundations of 11 adjacent houses on Hung Vuong and Le Duan streets slid into a ravine. The rear sections of three of these homes completely collapsed.
Portions of the houses were buried in mud, leaving only their foundations visible. Residents have been evacuated and are staying temporarily with relatives or neighbors.

Nguyen Quoc Huy stated that his wife was at the front of their house when the landslide occurred. The rear part suddenly collapsed, sweeping away a refrigerator, television, and other belongings into the mud. Having lived there for 8 years, he said this was his first time witnessing such a landslide.
Collapsed house walls revealed steel rebar dangling from beams. All 11 houses are considered at risk of further collapse, rendering them uninhabitable.

Ten houses are on Hung Vuong street, and one guesthouse is on Le Duan street, all backing onto a deep ravine. After the landslide, authorities cordoned off the dangerous area. Most residents had built sturdy, multi-story, adjacent homes, using the first floor for business and the upper floors for living.
