Upon discovering the incident, security personnel attempted to extinguish the flames with on-site equipment, but were unsuccessful. Due to flammable materials, dry weather, and strong winds, the fire rapidly expanded, causing the corrugated iron roof and steel frames of the workshops to collapse one after another.
Numerous fire trucks along with officers and firefighters from the Gia Lai Provincial Police's Fire Prevention and Fighting Department were dispatched to the scene. The force divided into multiple teams, using high-pressure hoses to suppress the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent areas.
