Major fire at industrial park in Gia Lai

A fire erupted from a factory in Nhon Hoi Industrial Park, Quy Nhon Dong ward (formerly Binh Dinh), causing many warehouses to collapse and destroying significant property on the morning of 26/4.

Around 1h, the plastic production workshop of two companies, Tan Dai Hung and Tan Dai Nam, caught fire. The blaze quickly spread across thousands of square meters, erupting fiercely with columns of smoke hundreds of meters high blanketing the area, visible to residents 3 km away.

Upon discovering the incident, security personnel attempted to extinguish the flames with on-site equipment, but were unsuccessful. Due to flammable materials, dry weather, and strong winds, the fire rapidly expanded, causing the corrugated iron roof and steel frames of the workshops to collapse one after another.

Numerous fire trucks along with officers and firefighters from the Gia Lai Provincial Police's Fire Prevention and Fighting Department were dispatched to the scene. The force divided into multiple teams, using high-pressure hoses to suppress the flames and prevent them from spreading to adjacent areas.

By approximately 7h, the fire was largely contained and prevented from spreading further. The incident caused no casualties but destroyed significant property. Authorities are currently continuing to cordon off the area and spray water to cool it down and fully extinguish the blaze.
