Officers from Traffic Police Team No. 14, under the Hanoi Traffic Police Department, were dispatched to the scene. They coordinated with Hoang Liet Ward Police to manage the accident.
The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
A similar railway accident occurred on 6/3 in Hoa Vinh Tay, Ve Giang commune, Quang Ngai province. Train SE8, pulled by locomotive 918 with 14 carriages, collided with a container truck. The driver sustained injuries, and property damage was estimated at 120 million VND.
Recently, authorities have intensified patrols, monitoring, and strict enforcement against violations of railway safety corridors. This includes actions like bypassing barriers and proceeding despite red signals and active warning bells. However, many drivers continue to disregard laws and risk danger.
According to the Traffic Police Department, trains require a significant distance to brake and cannot stop abruptly. A single reckless decision lasting mere seconds can cost lives, both one's own and others'. The Department urges people to fully obey traffic signals, warning bells, and barriers at railway crossings, to avoid bypassing barriers in any way, and not to gamble with safety due to haste or carelessness.
