Motorcycle parts plastic workshop catches fire in Hanoi's suburbs

A 500 square meter motorcycle parts manufacturing workshop in Trung Gia commune caught fire on the morning of 5/10, with about 200 people mobilized to extinguish it.

The fire erupted around 7:45 h after an electrical short circuit occurred within the workshop. The facility, storing a large quantity of plastic items and foam, produced dense smoke and flames, with a column of smoke visible from several kilometers away.

The one-story workshop, spanning approximately 500 square meters with a tin roof, is situated on a plot larger than 3,000 square meters, surrounded by trees. All workers were able to evacuate safely when the fire was discovered.

The People's Committee (UBND) of Trung Gia commune reported that approximately 200 individuals were mobilized immediately upon detection of the fire. This force included: 30 fire and rescue officers, 60 personnel from the police, commune military command, and the UBND, along with 100 local residents.

The fire was extinguished around 10 h. The incident caused no human casualties, and property damage is currently being assessed.

Police are investigating the cause of the fire. The workshop owner stated that an electrical short circuit was responsible.
