Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu stripped of all party positions

The Central Inspection Committee decided to strip Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu, secretary of the Party Committee and chairman of the Vietnam Writers' Association, of all party positions due to violations in leading and directing the activities of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House.

On the afternoon of 30/7, the Central Inspection Committee announced the results of its 10th session. This followed a review of inspection findings regarding signs of violations, accountability reports, and a proposal for disciplinary action against the Party Cell of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House for the 2025-2027 term and several related party members.

According to the conclusions, the Party Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association for the 2025-2030 term lacked responsibility, loosened leadership and direction, and failed to inspect and supervise. This allowed the Vietnam Writers' Association to not properly fulfill its responsibilities as the governing body of the Publishing House.

The Party Cell of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House violated working regulations and failed to properly implement the Party's policies and regulations, as well as State laws concerning publishing activities. Many officials and party members showed signs of political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle degradation. They violated Party regulations and State laws in performing their assigned duties, along with what party members are prohibited from doing and their responsibility to set an example.

The Central Inspection Committee assessed that these violations caused serious consequences, negatively affecting the prestige of the party organization and the unit, to the extent that disciplinary action must be taken.

The inspection agency identified individual responsibilities belonging to: Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu; Mr. Dao Ba Doan, deputy secretary of the Party Committee, secretary of the Party Cell, deputy director and editor-in-chief of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House; Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hang, deputy secretary of the Party Cell, director of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House; Mr. Nguyen Van Yen, head of the Editorial Department of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House; and several other party organizations and members.

Based on the content, nature, extent, consequences, and causes of the violations, the Central Inspection Committee decided to expel Mr. Dao Ba Doan, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hang, and Mr. Nguyen Van Yen from the Party. Mr. Nguyen Quang Thieu was stripped of all party positions.

The Party Committee of the Vietnam Writers' Association for the 2025-2030 term and the Party Cell of the Vietnam Writers' Association Publishing House for the 2025-2027 term received disciplinary action in the form of a warning.

The Central Inspection Committee also requested several party organizations to review, inspect, consider, and handle related party organizations and members, and report the results to this agency.
