Around 7:30 PM, three vehicles transporting passengers and workers, along with one truck, were involved in a chain collision while traveling on the Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway.

The accident occurred at Km35, near the IC9 interchange of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway in Phu Tho province. Heavy rain and slippery road conditions were present at the time of the incident.

Hung Vuong General Hospital in Phu Tho stated it immediately dispatched at least 8 ambulances to the scene. This included six ambulances from the hospital itself, along with two emergency vehicles from Hung Vuong Chan Mong General Clinic and Hung Vuong Thanh Ba General Clinic, approaching from three different directions to transport the injured for emergency treatment.

No fatalities have been reported so far. At the scene, passengers were trapped inside the bus, which had a crushed driver's compartment. The expressway is also experiencing significant congestion.

The Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway is a 40,2 km section of the western North-South expressway system. Approximately 29 km of this route lies within Phu Tho province, with the remaining 11,2 km located in Tuyen Quang province.
