Construction on the National Children's Hospital 2 began in 2/2023 in Ngoc Than village, Kieu Phu commune, the former Quoc Oai district, with a total investment of over 880 billion VND. The modern facility includes an administrative block, a paraclinical block, two 5-story inpatient treatment blocks, technical infrastructure, and auxiliary works. Upon completion, the hospital can receive 1,000 to 1,500 outpatient children daily, reducing the burden on the original facility on La Thanh street.

Hospital leaders inspected the facilities before the opening. The National Children's Hospital 2 is part of Hanoi's master plan to 2030, with a vision to 2050, approved by the Prime Minister in 2011. Leading doctors and specialists from the original hospital will rotate through the new facility, ensuring consistent quality of care and standardized treatment protocols.
