This year's Press Festival, themed "Vietnamese Journalism - Loyal, Creative, Responsible in the New Era", will see participation from 66 units, press agencies, and journalist associations nationwide.
The exhibition space will showcase notable achievements of Vietnamese journalism over more than a century of development, reflecting journalism's role in Party building, national development, and international integration.
The 20th National Press Awards ceremony is a special highlight within the activities commemorating the 101st anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day. This is the most prestigious professional award for the nation's journalists.
This year, the National Press Awards Council selected 123 excellent works for awards, comprising 11 A prizes, 26 B prizes, 50 C prizes, and 36 consolation prizes across 13 categories. The honored works vividly reflect major national issues, contributing to fostering social consensus.
The VJA will also host the 2026 National Press Forum, with participation from leaders of press agencies, journalists, reputable speakers, and media experts.
Discussion sessions will cover topics including: enhancing the role of journalism in protecting the Party's ideological foundation; press-enterprise partnerships for future building; innovation to attract new readers and develop press economics; press copyright in the AI era: protecting the value of journalism; and promoting Vietnam's image within the digital press ecosystem.
Delegates and guests will also delve into: structuring press agency operations - an insider's perspective; AI - how to apply, what to implement, and how to control it in Vietnamese press agencies; what direction for policy communication to support local development; and the "strategic autonomy" of press agencies in the digital era.
