Party and state leaders attend patriotic emulation congress

General Secretary To Lam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, along with current and former party and state leaders, attended the national patriotic emulation congress in Hanoi on the morning of 27/12.

The 11th national patriotic emulation congress will honor over 2,000 exemplary individuals and collective representatives across various fields. Among these are 139 delegates, comprising individuals and collective representatives recognized as Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and Labor Heroes since 2021; 86 national emulation fighters; 36 outstanding individuals recognized for studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style; 198 delegates are ethnic minorities; and 41 delegates are overseas Vietnamese who have made exemplary contributions to the nation.

Additionally, 138 exemplary delegates represent professions such as doctors, teachers, artisans, artists, scientists, writers, recipients of the Ho Chi Minh Award and State Award, journalists, young talents, veterans, former youth volunteers, and those who have rendered meritorious service. A total of 1,326 delegates are outstanding advanced models in patriotic emulation movements, primarily direct laborers and producers across economic, socio-cultural, national defense, and security sectors.

According to Ms. Do Thuy Phuong, Deputy Head of the Central Emulation and Commendation Committee, approximately 25% of the delegates at this congress are from the economic sector, including many outstanding entrepreneurs. Also attending are exemplary military and public security forces who participated in search and rescue operations and helped residents overcome flood damage in recent years, especially during this year's natural disasters, storms, and floods.

The youngest delegate is 11 years old; the oldest delegate is former Vice President and Labor Hero Nguyen Thi Binh, at 98 years old.

The 11th national patriotic emulation congress took place over two days, 26 and 27/12, at the National Convention Center in Hanoi. In addition to the official program, the congress featured various activities: an exhibition of photos of President Ho Chi Minh with patriotic emulation movements and past emulation congresses; an exhibition showcasing the nation's socio-economic achievements after 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal); an exchange program for advanced models; and honoring and commending Labor Heroes, Heroes of the People's Armed Forces, and national emulation fighters.

A total of 2,223 delegates attended the congress, including 198 invited guests and 2,025 official delegates. The theme of this year's congress is: "Emulating innovation, creativity, and accelerating breakthroughs to usher the nation into an era of strong, civilized, and prosperous development."
