Around 9:30 AM on 2/12, a passenger bus with a Hoa Binh license plate, traveling towards Dong Anh, collided with the rear of a 4-seater car registered in Vinh Phuc. The incident occurred near the middle of Thang Long bridge.
The impact severely deformed and crumpled the rear of the 4-seater car, sending it spinning 180 degrees into the oncoming lane. The passenger bus subsequently blocked nearly three-quarters of the road surface.

Although no injuries were reported, the accident caused significant traffic disruptions. Congestion stretched for approximately 3 km in both directions on Thang Long bridge, extending from the Hoang Sa roundabout to the Ring Road 2 section near the Ciputra urban area.
Drivers faced lengthy delays following the crash. Nguyen Xuan Ha, a motorist caught in the gridlock, recounted being "stuck" on the bridge for almost one hour before clearing the accident site. Many drivers opted to turn around and use the Nhat Tan bridge as an alternative route.
This incident follows another collision on Thang Long bridge just one day earlier, when a truck struck a 4-seater car, causing extensive delays for traffic heading into the city center.
