Passenger bus overturns on highway

A sleeper bus carrying numerous passengers overturned on Highway 14 on the morning of 19/8, injuring three passengers seriously.

Around 5:15 AM, Mr. Kim Nuol, 39, was driving a passenger bus registered in Ho Chi Minh City with 45 people onboard. The bus was traveling on Highway 14 from Dak Lak to Gia Lai. Upon reaching Krong Buk commune, the vehicle suddenly veered off the road and overturned.

Local residents and authorities used crowbars to break the windows and rescue those trapped inside.

The accident resulted in three women suffering from crushed hands and broken ribs. They are currently receiving emergency treatment at the Tay Nguyen Regional General Hospital. Several other passengers with minor injuries were taken to the Krong Buk Medical Center for first aid.

According to authorities, the accident was caused by the sharp curve in the road and the driver's inattention. Tests showed the driver was negative for drugs and alcohol.
