On the afternoon of 7/2, at the national conference on the 14th Party Congress Resolution, Tran Sy Thanh, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee, presented a topic on innovating inspection and supervision. This aims to strengthen discipline and meet new task requirements.
According to Thanh, immediately after the 14th Party Congress, the Central Inspection Committee developed and advised the Politburo and Secretariat to issue a full-term inspection and supervision program. The committee advised establishing 22 inspection and supervision teams by the Politburo and Secretariat for the thorough understanding, deployment, and implementation of the 14th Party Congress Resolution, expected to launch in March.
Tran Sy Thanh stated that the 22 inspection teams will be led by Politburo members and Secretariat members, directly inspecting 40 central-level Party organizations. These teams will remain stable throughout the term to monitor the entire process of resolution implementation in localities and units. General Secretary To Lam will personally lead one inspection team.
The Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee urged secretaries and heads of Party committees and organizations at all levels to directly participate in inspection and supervision, especially within their own localities and units. Inspection committees at all levels will also advise Party committees to lead and direct the serious and effective study, understanding, and implementation of new regulations and directives from the Politburo and Secretariat on inspection and supervision.

Inspection and supervision by inspection committees at all levels will shift its focus to regular supervision, proactively preventing violations early. This ensures minor infractions do not escalate into major ones. Inspection content will concentrate on public interest issues: the organization and operation of two-tier local governments; the implementation status of key national and local projects; and preventing loss and waste in public asset procurement, management, and use, particularly for assets derived from scientific, technological, and innovation tasks.
Tran Sy Thanh stated that in 2025, the Central Inspection Committee significantly shifted its focus to proactive, comprehensive, and continuous supervision, starting from the policy issuance stage. This approach works with Party committees at all levels to resolve difficulties and promote development. Additionally, inspection committees at all levels will proactively grasp situations, regularly monitor major issues, and promptly record feedback, recommendations, and complex matters requiring the entire political system's concerted effort to address.
The Central Inspection Committee also committed to accelerating comprehensive digital transformation in inspection and supervision. This includes perfecting and operating software, applications, and databases; digitizing documents; and moving towards data-driven inspection and supervision across the entire inspection sector.
Inspection work will continue to focus on detecting and strictly handling Party members showing political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle degradation, "self-evolution," "self-transformation," corruption, waste, negativity, and group interests, based on the principle of no forbidden zones and no exceptions. Concurrently, it will protect innovative cadres who dare to think, act, and break through for the common good.
According to Thanh, in the coming period, the Central Inspection Committee will continue to direct and guide inspection committees at all levels to organize hands-on professional training for inspection cadres at the commune, ward, and special zone levels.
