Four-car pile-up on Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway

A four-car pile-up on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, near Song Luy commune, caused traffic congestion for over 2 km in the Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang direction on the morning of 7/2.

Around 10:30 on 7/2, four vehicles traveling in the same direction on the Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet expressway, near Song Luy commune, former Bac Binh district, were involved in a sudden pile-up. One refrigerated truck carrying seafood overturned, spilling fish across the road. The remaining vehicles were damaged and blocked traffic lanes.

According to authorities, no casualties were reported in the accident.

The accident caused prolonged traffic congestion on the expressway in the direction from Ho Chi Minh City to Nha Trang. "My car was stuck for nearly 30 minutes and still couldn't move", said Phu The, a driver caught in the traffic.

Traffic police and the route management unit responded to the scene to direct traffic, conduct an investigation, and determine the cause of the accident. Vehicles traveling north from Ho Chi Minh City were advised to exit the expressway at the Ma Lam interchange and use national route 28, which connects to national route 1 through the former Ham Thuan Bac district.
