The Lam Dong Department of Construction confirmed that the contractor reinforced and treated the road surface and foundation, making it suitable for temporary passage. However, due to complex weather with ongoing rain and storms, the department advises drivers to avoid the pass during heavy rain, at night, or in dense fog. Motorists should reduce speed, carefully observe road conditions, and follow all traffic guidance.

The 7.27-kilometer Prenn Pass connects National Highway 20 to central Dalat. It underwent a 552 billion VND upgrade, becoming operational in early 2023. On 17/11, a landslide on the downhill embankment near Datanla waterfall caused a 100-meter section of the road surface to crack and sink. These cracks later extended to 300 meters.

Prolonged heavy rains in recent days also triggered landslides on several other key routes in and out of Dalat. Mimosa Pass experienced a 70-meter section torn apart to a depth of nearly 40 meters. National Highway 20 through D'ran Pass suffered subsidence and cracks, while Khanh Le Pass was affected by mudslides, complicating travel between Nha Trang and Dalat.
