In his article, "80 years of the Vietnam people's public security force with the cause of national socio-economic development," the prime minister emphasized that since its inception, the public security force has always been the "sharp sword" of the party and state, directly fighting and sacrificing to protect the young government, maintain social order and safety, and bring peace to the people.
Immediately after the August Revolution of 1945, in a precarious situation, the public security force stood side-by-side with the army to protect the revolutionary achievements, fighting spies and counter-revolutionaries, and safeguarding revolutionary bases. During the resistance war against the French, the public security force played a crucial role in protecting national security, contributing to the Dien Bien Phu victory that resonated globally.
In the resistance war against the US, the public security force was present on all battlefields, directly thwarting infiltration plans by spies and commandos, while participating in the construction of socialist North Vietnam, the great rear for the Southern front. The public security force also contributed to major campaigns, especially the 1968 Tet Offensive and the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.
After the reunification of the country, the public security force continued to play a core role in ensuring national security, maintaining social order and safety, and combating sabotage activities, contributing to the building and consolidation of the revolutionary government and overcoming the consequences of war. In the border wars in the southwest and north, the public security force fought directly, coordinating with the army and the people to protect sovereignty and maintain political stability.

Entering the period of renewal and international integration, the role of the public security force has expanded. Not only maintaining security, the public security force also participates in creating a development environment, accompanying economic and social reforms. The public security force has grasped the situation, advised the party and state on ensuring national security, and prevented schemes of "peaceful evolution," riots, and terrorism, while proactively mitigating risks, protecting economic interests, and creating confidence for businesses and investors.
The prime minister acknowledged that the public security force has taken the lead in implementing Project 06, building a national population database, developing the VNeID application, participating in high-tech projects, and ensuring safety in economic and trade agreement negotiations. The public security force has also been at the forefront of handling major economic, corruption, stock market, real estate, and smuggling cases, with the motto "no forbidden zones, no exceptions."
In addition, the force has also been proactive in preventing and combating epidemics and natural disasters, carrying out search and rescue operations domestically and internationally, participating in UN peacekeeping operations, and promoting social security, building tens of thousands of houses for the poor, people with meritorious services, and people in disaster-stricken areas.
According to the prime minister, the country is entering a new development phase, striving to become a developing country with modern industry and upper-middle income by 2030 and a developed, high-income country by 2045. This poses both a heavy and glorious requirement for the public security force.
The public security force needs to continue maintaining security in all situations, preventing hotspots from arising, and proactively responding to non-traditional security threats. Along with that, the force needs to closely combine the task of ensuring security with socio-economic development, administrative reform, digital transformation, and security industry development.
The head of government emphasized that the public security force must pioneer in science and technology, innovation, and national digital transformation; promote exemplary spirit, the motto "as long as there is the party, there is me," and the principle "honor is the most sacred and precious thing"; and continue to build a clean, strong, regular, elite, and modern force.
"With its 80-year glorious tradition, the people's public security force will continue to fight bravely, be ready to sacrifice, achieve many new feats, and be worthy of being a reliable support for the party, state, and people," the prime minister affirmed.
