On 9/9, a search team from the Da Nang City Military Command, in coordination with local officials from Tra Giap commune, excavated a suspected grave site in Hamlet 1's hill area, following information received from local residents.

Officials discovered the remains wrapped in a completely decomposed nylon sheet, with 24 teeth still intact. Accompanying artifacts included a 'Dung si diet My' badge, a belt, a fountain pen nib, tweezers, 18 clothing buttons, and some decayed fabric fragments.

Pham Xuan Tuan, 58 years old, a resident of Hamlet 1, provided the information regarding the grave. According to Tuan, around 1975, a medical unit of Military Region 5 was stationed in this area. Around 1977, when his family settled there, he found the grave approximately 100 meters from the former military camp, with a pith helmet at the head of the grave.

The Da Nang City Military Command is currently verifying this information and compiling a file to identify the fallen soldier and their unit.

The 'Dung si diet My' badge was awarded during the American War to soldiers for their combat achievements. This artifact could serve as crucial evidence in the process of verifying information about the fallen soldier.
