Rescue of young man who jumped from Thuan Phuoc bridge

Rescue forces promptly reached and brought a 25-year-old man to safety ashore just 4 minutes after he jumped from Thuan Phuoc Bridge into the Han River.

On the evening of 16/4, Command Center 114 received a report of an individual attempting to jump from Thuan Phuoc Bridge. The Fire Fighting and Rescue Team immediately dispatched a specialized canoe and 7 officers and soldiers to the scene.

At 7:59 PM, the young man unexpectedly jumped from the bridge into the water. Rescue forces initiated the operation, reaching him within 4 minutes. By 8:03 PM, they successfully brought the victim onto the canoe. The man resides in Son Tra ward.

After being brought ashore, the victim was transferred to the Son Tra Regional Medical Center for health care.

Thuan Phuoc is a cable-stayed bridge spanning the mouth of the Han River, standing approximately 27 meters above the water. This location has seen numerous bridge jumping incidents. Successfully rescuing victims here demands the swift presence and response of specialized forces.
