Traffic light construction damages water pipe, affecting over 20,000 households

A contractor installing traffic lights accidentally damaged a main water pipeline from the Tuy Hoa water plant, disrupting supply to over 20,000 households in seven eastern communes and wards of the province.

On the afternoon of 16/4, while installing a traffic light pole at the southwest corner of the intersection of road 22 and national highway 25 in Phu Hoa, the contractor accidentally drilled into the main pipeline of the Tuy Hoa water plant, operated by Phu Yen Water Supply Joint Stock Company.

Immediately after the incident, the company had to temporarily suspend water supply to all customers in Tuy Hoa, Binh Kien, Phu Yen, Dong Hoa, Hoa Hiep wards and Tuy An Nam, O Loan communes.

Nguyen Tan Thuan, Deputy General Director of Phu Yen Water Supply Joint Stock Company, stated that the company mobilized maximum personnel and spare materials for repairs. By that evening, the damaged pipe section was nearly repaired, with water expected to be restored to residents late tonight.
