Road roller crashes, kills pedestrian

A 75-year-old woman walking on the road was struck and killed by a road roller.

On the afternoon of 16/12, 19-year-old driver Tran Tri Tai was operating a road roller on an inter-commune road, traveling from Binh Tan (formerly Binh Phuoc province) towards Tay Ninh. Upon reaching Long Hung 2 village, the vehicle stopped by the roadside. However, it then unexpectedly rolled downhill.

The uncontrolled road roller struck 75-year-old Hoang Thi Ly, who was walking along the roadside, killing her instantly. The vehicle then veered onto the pavement, colliding with a house and damaging property.

Dong Nai police arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation into the cause of the accident.
