Seven military, public security collectives awarded hero of the people's armed forces title

On the morning of 27/12, the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces during the Doi Moi era was presented to seven collectives from the military and public security forces at the 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress.

The honored collectives include: the Department of Search and Rescue; the Department of Military Training and Schools; the Special Forces Arm; Corps 15 under the Ministry of National Defense; Hanoi Public Security; and the Department of Personnel and Inspectorate, Ministry of Public Security.

In a report presented at the Congress, Colonel Pham Ngoc Vu, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Special Forces Arm, stated that special forces soldiers must always possess high determination and courage. They not only face enemies but also extremely harsh operational environments, especially during training and prolonged missions at sea. When ships depart, officers and soldiers set aside all personal thoughts, emotions, and family responsibilities to prioritize completing their assigned duties.

According to Colonel Vu, the sacrifices of special forces soldiers are unique and silent, as missions often take place deep within enemy territory. If victorious, they return; otherwise, they may sacrifice everything.

The 11th National Patriotic Emulation Congress was attended by 2,025 delegates, including nearly 1,300 exemplary individuals and collective representatives from various fields. Among them, 139 delegates were individuals and collective representatives of Heroes of the People's Armed Forces and Labor Heroes honored since 2021; 86 national emulation fighters; 36 exemplary individuals in studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, ethics, and style; 198 delegates were ethnic minorities; and 41 delegates were overseas Vietnamese with outstanding contributions to the nation.
