Six-vehicle pileup jams Noi Bai airport road

Five cars and one 16-seat passenger bus collided on Vo Nguyen Giap street on the afternoon of 27/2, causing kilometers of traffic congestion towards Noi Bai airport.

Around 3 p.m. on 27/2, five cars (mostly four- and seven-seat vehicles) and one 16-seat passenger bus were traveling on Vo Nguyen Giap street from Nhat Tan bridge towards Noi Bai airport. The collision occurred as they approached the turn-off for national highways two and three.

At the scene, all collided vehicles were in the outer lane. The chain collision caused damage to the front and rear of six vehicles. Debris was scattered across the road.

The accident caused no casualties but resulted in traffic congestion stretching for about three km in the area. Ms. Dinh Mai Loan stated it took her over 30 minutes to get past the accident site. Many drivers were forced to divert to the service road to continue their journey.

Authorities have dispatched personnel to the scene to manage the incident.

Vo Nguyen Giap street is a 12 km long transportation artery, connecting the city center via Nhat Tan bridge to Noi Bai airport. It passes through the former districts of Dong Anh and Soc Son. This road is one of the capital's modern roads, designed with six lanes and service roads on both sides, with a speed of 90 km/h.
