Previously, most of these routes relied on diesel-powered buses. With the transition to electric vehicles, many routes will see increased frequency and extended operating hours, running daily from 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM. Fares are standardized at 6,000 VND per ride for general passengers and 3,000 VND for students. A 30-ride pass is available for 135,000 VND.
Nguyen Cong Nhat, Deputy General Director of operations at VinBus, stated that this conversion contributes to the development of green transportation in the city. In addition to these nine routes, VinBus currently operates three other electric bus routes: D4, 33, and 150. The company is also investing in a synchronized charging station system to ensure stable operations.

According to Bui Hoa An, Deputy Director of the TP HCM Department of Construction, the city now has 180 bus routes following administrative boundary expansion. Among these, 66 routes, utilizing 1,082 vehicles, already use environmentally friendly energy (50 electric bus routes and 16 compressed natural gas routes), accounting for approximately 48% of the entire network.
The city aims for its entire bus system to transition to electric and green energy vehicles by 2030. The Department of Construction leadership has urged VinBus to maintain its scheduled operations, improve punctuality, and enhance service quality for passengers.
