At a government meeting on 23/6, prime minister Pham Minh Chinh discussed the exhibition of socio-economic achievements commemorating 80 years of National Day (2/9/1945-2/9/2025). The exhibition is scheduled from August 28th to September 5th at the National Exhibition Center (Co Loa, Dong Anh, Hanoi).
The exhibition will showcase Vietnam's socio-economic achievements over 80 years of development. Fairs, food stalls, tourism and handicraft exhibits, art programs, bilateral meetings, conferences, and seminars will also be part of the event.
Authorities are arranging the exhibition space to accommodate visitors, ensuring public order, and food safety.
The prime minister emphasized the scale and complexity of the exhibition, stating it is "unprecedented, with limited preparation time and high expectations." He called for full participation and commitment from all ministries, sectors, and localities.

The prime minister requested that the exhibition portray 80 years of national development, inspiring pride in Vietnam’s history and motivating the country for future prosperity. The exhibition should also showcase Vietnam's achievements to international friends and be accessible to people of all ages. A suggested theme is "80 years of independence, freedom, and happiness."
He urged the mobilization of documents, artifacts, and key figures, combining displays with cultural, artistic, and entertainment activities.
Deputy prime minister Mai Van Chinh will oversee the exhibition, with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as the standing agency. The principle is "clear personnel, tasks, timelines, outcomes, authority, and responsibilities."
In mid-May, the government tasked the Ministry of National Defense and the Ministry of Public Security with preparing the military parade for the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd. Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, deputy chief of the general staff of the Vietnam People's Army, said the forces that participated in the parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of southern Vietnam are expected to participate again, comprising 11 standing blocks and 27 marching blocks.
In mid-June, deputy prime minister Mai Van Chinh assigned the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and Hanoi People’s Committee to clear, renovate, and expand Ba Dinh Square for the parade commemorating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd.
