Shortly after 8 AM, a fire broke out at a store selling plastic bowls, plates, and cups, located about one km from the Tan Thoi Hiep overpass. People inside the store fled outside, shouting for neighbors to help use mini fire extinguishers, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
The fire quickly ignited various flammable materials, intensifying rapidly with multiple explosions. It then spread to the adjacent building, which housed a transport service company. Nearby residents quickly moved goods from the front of their properties to limit the spread of the fire.
Anh Hoai, who lives near the scene, stated that the fire might have originated from an electrical short circuit on the store's mezzanine. "The continuous explosions, like from mini gas canisters, worried many people, forcing them to keep their distance," he said.
The fire department dispatched many specialized vehicles and over 20 officers and soldiers to the scene. Firefighters deployed hoses, simultaneously extinguishing the flames and preventing further spread.

After about 30 minutes, the fire was brought under control, with no casualties reported. However, the plastic goods store was completely destroyed, and the sign and many assets of the adjacent building sustained damage.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
