Around 8h on 26/3, a truck traveling on national route 12B from Lac Son towards Dai Dong veered into the opposite lane near Lam Hoa bridge in Lac Son commune. It overturned, pinning a 4-seat car and a motorbike against a residential wall. The truck's load of soil spilled, burying both vehicles.

Police from Phu Tho Provincial Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Police, along with local residents, used excavators and shovels to clear the soil and search for victims. By 9h30, rescuers found the bodies of the two victims: a 40-year-old male car driver and a 47-year-old female motorbike driver. Both were residents of Dai Dong commune.

At the scene, the truck lay overturned near the edge of the opposite lane, with the car and motorbike underneath, severely deformed. Soil from the truck had also spilled onto the roadside, causing traffic congestion for several kilometers on national route 12B.

National route 12B is an inter-provincial road connecting the Northwest region with the Northern Delta (Ninh Binh). The section through Lac Son commune has two lanes, is in the southern central part of the province, and serves as a main transport artery.
