Five government agencies transferred to become public service units of the Party Central Committee

The Party Central Committee has agreed to transfer five government agencies, including key media organizations and two academies, to become public service units directly under its authority.

A communique from the 2nd plenum of the 14th Party Central Committee, issued on the afternoon of 25/3, announced the Central Committee's approval to transfer Vietnam Television, Voice of Vietnam, Vietnam News Agency, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, and Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology from government agencies to public service units under the Party Central Committee.

The Central Committee assigned the Politburo to direct relevant agencies to implement this according to regulations, ensuring completion before 1/4.

Vietnam Television (VTV) is the national television broadcaster and a key multimedia news organization. It informs and promotes the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws. VTV has 22 subordinate units, and its Director General is Nguyen Thanh Lam.

Voice of Vietnam (VOV) is the national radio broadcaster and a key multimedia news organization. It informs and promotes, while also serving the spiritual life of the people through various media forms. Its Director General is Do Tien Sy.

Vietnam News Agency (VNA) is the national news agency. It publishes and disseminates official information and documents of the Party and State, providing information for leadership, management, and the public's needs both domestically and internationally. Its Director General is Vu Viet Trang.

The Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) researches fundamental social science issues, provides scientific arguments for policy formulation, and trains human resources. Its President is Professor, Doctor Le Van Loi.

The Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology (VAST) conducts basic research in natural sciences, develops technology, and provides scientific arguments for management and development policy formulation. Its President is Professor, Doctor Tran Hong Thai.
