Around 5:30 p.m. on 18/7, Bui Van Ve, a worker for Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd. in Truong Giang village, was electrocuted while repairing electrical equipment at a manure filtration tank. He fell into the pit, showing signs of suffocation and difficulty breathing, according to Le Huy Duong, Chairman of Thach Quang Commune People's Committee.
Upon discovering the incident, Truong Van Lam and several other nearby workers descended one by one to rescue him. However, they also began to show signs of asphyxiation.
A total of 7 workers were involved in the chain-reaction accident and were rushed to Cam Thuy General Hospital for emergency treatment. By the early morning of 19/7, three people had died: Bui Van Ve, Truong Van Lam, and Bui Van Tuyen.
The four remaining people were injured. Two seriously affected victims were transferred to a higher-level hospital for treatment, while the other two continued to recover at Cam Thuy General Hospital.

Leaders of Thach Quang Commune People's Committee identified this as a particularly serious industrial accident at the livestock breeding area of Dabaco enterprise. "The direct cause, hazardous factors at the scene, as well as the responsibilities of relevant organizations and individuals, will be determined after authorities complete examination, assessment, and investigation", Mr. Duong stated.
Currently, the commune authorities have requested Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd. to temporarily suspend operations in the accident area. They are also required to erect fences, place warning signs, preserve all records and documents for the investigation, and urgently address the consequences, ensuring the rights of the victims and their families.
Thanh Hoa Provincial Police are currently cordoning off the scene and investigating the incident.
Dabaco Thanh Hoa Co., Ltd. is part of Dabaco Vietnam Group. It is the investor of a breeding pig and market hog farming project located in Thach Tuong and Thach Lam communes (former Thach Thanh district, now Thach Quang commune). The Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy for the project in 2021, with a total capital of more than 770 billion VND and an area of more than 50 ha. The project has a scale of 5,600 sows and more than 158,000 market hogs annually. The enterprise began importing pigs for farming in 10/2022.
