Three family members die after colliding with parked truck

A motorbike carrying three family members crashed into the back of a parked truck on National Highway 1A, killing all three on the morning of 20/7.

Around 7:15 a.m., Tong Van Dung was driving a Hanoi-registered truck southbound on National Highway 1A. Upon reaching Phu Long village (Tuy An Nam commune, Krong Pak district), he pulled over to the side of the road. A motorbike subsequently crashed into the rear of his parked vehicle.

The motorbike, driven by 63-year-old Nguyen Thi Bon, was carrying her two grandchildren, aged 9 and 16. The impact sent the motorbike under the truck, killing Ms. Bon instantly. Her grandchildren were thrown from the motorbike. Although bystanders rushed them to the hospital, they did not survive.

The truck sustained minor damage to its rear, while the motorbike's front was severely damaged.

According to witnesses, the road was busy at the time of the accident. Traffic police closed one lane to investigate and manage traffic flow through the area.
