On 18/8, Binh Trung ward police (formerly Thu Duc City) fined three middle-aged men for playing sports illegally on the road, according to Decree 168/2024.

Earlier, a 33-year-old driver was blocked by the group who had strung a net across the road to play badminton in the Van Minh residential area of Binh Trung ward. He got out of his car to address the issue of obstructing traffic, but an argument ensued with one of the players. The entire incident was recorded by a dashcam and posted on social media.

Speaking with the police, the group explained they usually set up the net in front of their house for about 40 minutes early each morning to play badminton with neighbors, unaware of the impact on traffic. After being fined, all three pledged not to repeat the offense.
