Three oto in pile-up on Sai Gon Bridge, causing prolonged traffic jam

Three 7-seater vehicles collided unexpectedly on Sai Gon Bridge, causing prolonged congestion on the route from the city center to the former Thu Duc area, at noon on 7/4.

Around 12 p.m., three 7-seater vehicles were traveling on Sai Gon Bridge, heading from Hang Xanh roundabout towards Vo Nguyen Giap street, An Khanh ward. When they reached the middle of the bridge, the oto suddenly collided. Two of them had their front and rear sections smashed and hoods deformed, blocking the lane.

The incident caused prolonged congestion for nearly one hour on the main route connecting the city center to the former Thu Duc city. oto had to move in a single file past the scene. Traffic Police directed oto to use the motorbike lane to alleviate congestion. The three crashed oto were subsequently moved to the foot of Sai Gon Bridge for handling.

Sai Gon Bridge, built in 1958, is nearly one kilometer long. It serves as the eastern gateway bridge connecting Ho Chi Minh City to the Central and Northern provinces. In 2012, Sai Gon Bridge 2 was built parallel to the old bridge.
