Three otos collide on North-South expressway, four people dead

A 16-seat passenger van was hit by a tractor-trailer while traveling on the Mai Son - National Highway 45, resulting in four deaths and six injuries, on the morning of January 14.

At approximately 3:40 AM, a passenger van with a Ha Tinh license plate, traveling from Thanh Hoa to Ha Noi, collided with a Ninh Binh-plated tractor-trailer upon reaching Dong Tien commune. The two vehicles then crashed into another tractor-trailer moving in the same direction.

A leader from Dong Tien commune reported that the passenger van was carrying 11 people. Four people died at the scene, while six others sustained injuries and were transported to the hospital. Both the passenger van and the initial tractor-trailer suffered extensive damage.

The accident caused significant traffic congestion on the Mai Son - National Highway 45, lasting several hours. The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police is coordinating with the Traffic Police Department to clear the scene and investigate the cause of the accident.
